If a person walks and stomps, his steps are loud (lit. his repeatedly stepping down is forceful) and we are awakened. Ogkohonat ka pa-a ta ka ogtakang ki woy ogdi-ok ki. Our foot is lifted up as we take a step and then we step down. [The word di-ok seems to mean “to step” in the sense of “putting ones' foot down.” The word takang also means “to step”, but in the process at ”each step one puts his/her foot down” which is di-ok.] see fr.: takang 1. 1.1To step on. Di-oki nu. Step on it. Ka ogdi-okan ta, ian ka katkat. What we step on, that is the step. 1.2Accidentally step on. If we have plants which are flowers, we will be careful when we step so that the flowers won't be accidently stepped on. 2To thresh any grains or beans by trampling underfoot. dugnal 1v To disturb or butt up against something as a pig which butts up against the breast or tits to stimulate the flow of milk. Ka bakotin, ogdugnalon ka susu oyow ogdakol ka gatas. The piglet butts up against the tits so that the milk will become greater. see: antog 1. 2v To inadvertently interrupt something or someone such as to enter house when occupants are eating. Nakadugnal koy na-an su ogko-on kow. We have inadvertently interrupted [you] because you are eating. 3vs To suffer a negative result of being interrupted such as to become ill because of being interrupted while harvesting. Ko sikan pad ogbunsuri no ogga-ani, konò ogpakabayò ka otow su ogkadugnalan (ogkasunlaan ) ka ogga-ani. When someone has just begun to harvest, [other] people cannot go there because the harvesters will suffer the negative result of being interrupted [and become ill]. ga-angga-ang v To sit in such a manner as to be improperly exposed, usually of children but can apply to an adult who is not being aware of his/her position. [Does not apply to someone standing at a height who may be inadvertantly seen by someone at a lower level.]

An attack by bees or a severely dehabilitating illness with a sudden onset such as cholera may be suspected to be due to witchcraft. A cure or an antidote will be sought. hatod v 1To escort someone. Ka maistra ka og-ulì dio to Maniki, no imbul-us pad to mgo batò dio to Patil ka nighatod. [As for] the teacher who returned to Maniki, they took her as far as Patil as they escorted (her). Ihatod nu ka so-ini balubatò diò to igbuyag to mgo sundalu su du-on ignangon din. Escort this young man to the leader of the soldiers because he has something to tell [him]. see fr.: duma 2.2; osyn: bul-us. 2To take or deliver something somewhere. Ig-agpas nu ighatod. Igpamaga-an ta igpahatod.” Deliver it quickly. We rush the delivery [of something] (cause the delivery to be quick). Ka dumptruk no nighatod to batu, ogbus-ugon din on. The dumptruck which delivered the rock(s), then spills them out. Ko igdogpak nu to lagut, ighatod nu diò to tagu-anan. If you throw away trash, you take (it) to the receptical. see fr.: alap 1.1.
ima 1v To envy, be envious. Du-on igko-ima no maroyow, ko nokoy ka oghimuon to duma ta no maroyow, ian ta rò og-unugon. kabus v 1Corn cob with missing grains. Ka pusù to agoloy no waro nigtomu to ngipon din, sikan ka kabus no agoloy. The ear of corn in which the grains have not filled in, is corn which is which has not reached completion. [Because of an association between the corn which is missing grains with a person who doesnt get to eat his harvest, children are generally not allowed to eat corn which is missing teeth because it is believed that when the young person gets old enough tomake a field, he/she will die before eating his/her harvest.] 2To die before one harvests his field. Ka otow no ogkakamot to tu-id din no homoy di konò ogpoko-uma to ogga-ani to homoy rin su namatoy on, ogkabuson on sikandin no warad nakako-on to homoy rin. A person who makes a field for his yearly [crop of] rice but doesnt live (lit. arrive) to harvest his rice because he has died, he has died before reaching [his harvest]. and so did not get to eat his rice.
ko-opos so doromdom phr. of: opos. To become frustrated Ka otow no konò og-aguanta to talabau rin to oghilamon to homayan din, maga-an ogko-opos so doromdom din no ogkapogulan din on to oghiponga to oghilamon din. As for a person who cannot endure his/her work of weeding his/her rice field, he/she will be quick to become frustrated and then will become weary and will not finish his/her work.
kotu v To break/cut off stems as one harvests grain; pick. Ko ogpanamporan ta ka tagdoy to homoy, sikan ka lituk to ogkotu ki. Sikan ka ogga-anion on. When we break/cut off the stems of the rice, that is the meaning of we break/cut off the stems of the rice. That is the meaning that we pick rice as we harvest. see: tampod 1.
kundab 1adj A condition of fear, or panic, especially of people, attributed to an evil spirit, which often causes causes the affect ed person to flee. Ka otow no kundabon maga-an ogkaallok ko oggoramon din. ka busow. A person who has a fear [of people], he quickly becomes afraid when he is being affected b y the evil spirit. [This is said to happen periodically when the spirit troubles a person. At other times, the person may seem normal. The manifestation may vary from person to person causing some people scream or run to the graveyard or forest.] 2vt To have a fear of people. I was deprived of my daughter because he took the brideprice and didn't give it to me. He was the only one benefitted. [as when someone takes something without paying for it.] 2To be depressed. Ogdamag ka, ogduma ka masakit to goinawa nu, sinogow, pandawot woy ogkalangò (ka sikan no konò ogkagikagi) You watch over [the dead person], your emotional pain accompanies, [you] weep and sit in silence. That is when a person when a person doesn't talk. Ig-amulung oyow igmakogal to goinawa to du-on igmasakit oyow konò din amana igkalangò. [It's used] to comfort to stabilize/strengthen one's breath which is hurting so that he will not so munc be depressed. [DB says that a person in this condition may go a whole week without speaking. Some will continually weep. The person will not desire to eat. It will turn into an illness if there is no one to help them to overcome these feelings.]

Wood that is quick-burning always flames and then quickly burns up when used to build a fire. [Term would apply to gasoline or kerosene but not to something that would be smoky when burning.] 2v To be quick-burning.
ngadngad v 1To press and rub something against something else (esp. sharpening an instrument). Igngadngad ta ka kamanga to mgo mo-irob, wasoy, woy ko ilab oyow ogmagalang ka galang din. We press and rub the sharpening stone against the bolo, axe or knife in order to sharpen its edge. Ka ngadngad, sikan ka igdakosol ka mgo mo-irob diò to kamanga. The [word] ngadngad “press and rub against”, that is when a long knife bolo is pressed against a sharpening stone.
