maexclam., strange, O, used by persons when they find they have misunderstood what was said.
maexclam., like O, in the voc., as mi̱ko ma, O king. It is often heard in personal salutations, but where in English there is no corresponding word. It is not an exclamation so much as an acknowledgment. It partakes also of a verb which asserts that the thing is so. Pi̱shali ma, Luke 3:12.
