Dictionary Entries explained

 

Dangaléat is a tonal language. Certains tones are marked while others are unmarked.

In each entry the headword is unmarked, while the second word is the same word with tone markings. Next, the abbreviation for the part of speech is shown in italics. In the following example "v" means verb.

Words may have different meanings. When the meanings are unrelated, they are listed in order by greater usage to lesser usage. The semantic category of the words are listed preceded by their number. See the example below. Example sentences are sometimes given with their French translation.
