Introduction

 

This Dangaleat-French dictionary is the product of a team of people from the Dangaleat community in Chad.  This African ethnic group has a population of 60,000 and is located in the following dialectal regions:

Guéra region: Guéra department, Bang-bang subprefecture, also Bartha

Western dialect: Korbo area,

Central dialect: Barlo, Koubo Adougoul area;

Eastern dialect: Korlongo area.

The central dialect is well understood by most Dangaleat speakers.  Some also use Chadic Spoken Arabic.
