saqdib

nyumo dib [nyumo dɨb] n masc name of a tree whose seed pod is used for grating ginger and a yellow root used for dye. Also large black caterpillars eat the leaves and are collected for food. Ex: Wute ni yengiye saqdib pe tigage rind ye. People grate ginger on the seed pod of this tree. see also: saqdib. (sem. domains: 1.5.1 - Tree.)
