Thanks for using Webonary.org. Webonary.org is a service provided by SIL International (hereafter referred to as “SIL”), 7500 West Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas, 75236 USA, for the purpose of providing an online location for collecting word lists, lexicons, and dictionaries related to endangered languages and making this content available to the public.
By using Webonary.org, you are agreeing to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Using Webonary.org
You must agree to follow the policies and procedures set forth in the documentation and information provided on Webonary.org.
You may only access, view, and alter the contents of Webonary.org by using the Webonary interface, following the instructions we provide. You may use Webonary.org only as permitted by law, including applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations. We may suspend or stop providing Webonary.org services to you if you do not comply with these terms of service and policies.
Using Webonary.org does not give you any legal interest or intellectual property rights to Webonary.org, to SIL-owned content, or to the User-created content you can access. You may not use any branding or logos used on Webonary.org for any other purpose. Do not remove, obscure, or alter any legal notices displayed in or along with Webonary.org.
Webonary.org allows you to view and download content that is not SIL’s. User-created content in Webonary.org is the sole responsibility of the individual or organization that created it. SIL does not review all content created by users of Webonary.org, and is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, selection, or appropriateness of any user-created content. SIL may remove or refuse to display content we determine to be illegal, offensive, inaccurate, or which violates SIL’s ethical standards.
Privacy and Copyright Protection
SIL does not send unsolicited or "spam" email and does not sell, rent, or trade its email lists to third parties.
SIL investigates all reports of alleged copyright infringement and will terminate the Webonary.org account of any repeat infringer, following the process set out in the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Your Content on Webonary.org
Webonary.org allows you to share lexical and cultural information and analyses. You retain all intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. In short, what belongs to you stays yours.
You affirm that you are either the owner of the intellectual property rights of the content, or you have the permission of the owner(s) of the intellectual property rights for the content you display on Webonary.org.
You give SIL a non-exclusive worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with Webonary.org), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content. This license continues as long as you have content hosted on Webonary.org.
SIL invites your feedback and suggestions about Webonary.org, but the implementation of any changes to Webonary.org is at the sole discretion of SIL, and SIL will not necessarily notify you of any changes which may be made as the result of ideas you submit.
Your Webonary.org Account
You will need a Webonary.org account in order to upload lexical and cultural content. Please fill out an application form to request a Webonary.org account. Report any unauthorized use of your password or account to the Webonary Administrator.
About Software in Webonary.org
The software used in Webonary.org is offered under an open source license through the GNU General Public License (GPL). The GNU GPL is a free, copyleft license for software and other kinds of works.
Modifying and Terminating Webonary.org
We are constantly changing and improving Webonary.org. We may add or remove functionalities or features, and we may suspend or stop Webonary.org altogether. We may replicate the data on another web site and drop the Webonary name altogether. SIL may also stop providing Webonary.org for you, or add or create new limits to Webonary.org at any time. We believe that preserving your access to your lexical and cultural data is very important. If we discontinue Webonary.org, we will give you reasonable advance notice, and instructions for preserving your Webonary content.
You can stop using Webonary.org at any time, although we’ll be sorry to see you go. To discontinue your Webonary.org account, send a written request to the Webonary Administrator.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF SIL FOR ANY CLAIM UNDER THESE TERMS, INCLUDING FOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID SIL TO USE WEBONARY.ORG.
IN ALL CASES, SIL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE THAT IS NOT REASONABLY FORESEEABLE.
Business use of Webonary.org
If you are using Webonary.org on behalf of a business or organization, that business or organization accepts these terms. It will hold harmless and indemnify SIL and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claim, suit or action arising from or related to the use of Webonary.org or violation of these terms, including any liability or expense arising from claims, losses, damages, suits, judgments, litigation costs and attorneys’ fees.
About these Terms of Service
SIL may modify these Terms of Service or any additional terms of use that apply to Webonary.org, to reflect changes to the law or changes to Webonary.org. SIL will post notice of modifications to these Terms on the Terms of Service page. Webonary.org Account Holders should review the Terms regularly. Account holders have fourteen days after they are posted on Webonary.org to comment on changes, after which time the revised version becomes the final version. If you do not agree to the modified Terms of Service for Webonary.org, you should discontinue your use of Webonary.org. Changes addressing new functions for Webonary.org or changes made for legal reasons will be effective immediately.
If there is a difference between these general Terms of Service and more specific Terms of Use between SIL and you, the more specific Terms of Use will apply. These Terms of Service define and guide the relationship between SIL and you. They do not create any rights for, or involve, any third party. If you do not comply with these Terms of Service, SIL retains all of its legal rights, including the right to seek relief and damages.
The laws of Texas, U.S.A., excluding Texas’ conflict of laws rules, will apply to any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or Webonary. All claims arising out of or relating to these terms or Webonary.org will be litigated exclusively in the federal or state courts of Dallas County, Texas, USA, and you and SIL consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
