The Vagla language group occupies a region in north western Ghana of approximately 800 square miles.
Some have described the route of Vagla villages of Dabori, Tuna, Swala, Grup, as "crescent shaped". Tuna is the chief town in the region. These towns are in the Bole district. Some of the villages are shared with the Birifor and Ginja ethnic groups.
Their large joined dwelling, called compounds, are linked to create a village of mazes. Crops include yams, guinea corn, beans, groundnuts, okra, pepper and pumpkins. Vagla search for work cash incomes, usually to Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
